Kojiro Umezaki and Silk Road Ensemble win 2017 Grammy for Best World Music Album

The Silk Road Ensemble, led by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and featuring UCI Associate Professor Kojiro Umezaki as composer and performer on shakuhachi won the 2017 Grammy for their album, Sing Me Home, a tribute to the ways culture can help us encounter, connect, and build something new.
